Have your holidays been cancelled courtesy of COVID? Grrrr… yes, mine too! A few months back', I realised that the overseas trip I had planned for the family in December was not going to happen. And now, with Australian borders shut and cities in lockdown, it’s looking like our domestic vacay plans might be replaced with a Sydney staycation too.
We may not be able to vacay but we can still dream, so we put a shout out to our Reno Schoolers to share their holiday homes with the Reno School community. Wow, my mind is officially blown! From a shipping container on a slice of paradise in Vanuatu to a revamped motel on the Great Ocean Road… we got some serious post-COVID holiday inspo from this bunch.

Mahalo House | Bangalow, NSW
Reno Schooler Hannah Silverton has lovingly restored this gorgeous old Queenslander over the past four years to create a stunning holiday property in Bangalow, just out of Byron Bay. The property has 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a swimming pool, outdoor shower, fire pit, pizza oven and expansive private garden - all making for the perfect holiday haven.
Coco Cabana | Vanuatu
The story behind this property is just as beautiful as this little piece of island paradise itself. While on maternity leave, Jonica Bray and her family took some time out in Vanuatu and unexpectedly adopted a local baby boy while they were there. In Vanuatu it’s tradition to gift your son some land, so in keeping with this custom they bought a little block on the island. Jonica spent the next year putting her Reno School skills to use, converting a single shipping container into a unique tiny home that sleeps her family of five. They use it as a base when they visit her son’s birth family and rent it out as holiday accommodation in between.

We thought Carla Luce’s Greenhouse Retreat looked so good that we took our Three Birds team away for the night to try it out! The Greenhouse Retreats are luxury holiday homes located in Green Point and now Pearl Beach on NSW’s Central Coast. The property’s concierge service can book yoga classes, beauty treatments and gourmet hames for guests, on request. Highly recommended!

Sofia Myers’ amazing renovation of this dated property will change your perception of a ‘motel’ forever! Situated in a charming native garden on the main street of Port Campbell, Port O Call is an ideal base from which to explore the beautiful sites of the Port Campbell National Park including the world famous 12 Apostles.
My only problem now is where to go first! There are so many more beautiful Reno School holiday homes where these came from. #watchthisspace
