A VISION BOARD WITH A DIFFERENCE
Every single one of our projects starts in the same way … with a vision board. It’s the most accurate glimpse you’ll get of your dream home before committing to plans and renders and kicking off the process.
Creating a concise vision of how you want your home to look AND feel is super-duper important when it comes to renovating or building, and nailing your vision board should always be the very first step. We know it’s tempting to jump right in and start making decisions straight away but our best advice is to back up the truck and don’t start moving again until your vision board is done and dusted. We promise you’ll thank us later!
OUR HOUSE 14 VISION BOARD
ICYMI, House 14 is unlike any home we’ve done before. We teamed up with legend-builders, Rawson Homes, to create a Three Birds Dream Home that you can buy and put on your block of land. #prettycoolhuh
Usually, we spend months (even years!) collecting inspiration pics from our favourite Instagram accounts, Pinterest, glossy mags, hotels and resorts, to create the vision board for a project, but this one was different. All of the inspo came from our very own projects to create a home that is the ‘best of the Birds’.
We trawled through every image of every room of all of our previous houses and collated a list of the ‘must-have’ design features for our Three Birds Dream Home. We started off old-school by printing pics and pinning them on a wall. It’s a great way to collate all your inspo pics to easily see what’s missing, what’s not working with the other images… and from there you can continue to refine your vision. It’s a great way to share your vision with friends and family to get their input too.
Once we’d condensed our images down to the final eight which we thought best captured our vision, we popped them in our Three Birds Canva template (we share this in Reno School and Styling School!) to make it easy to save and share with the team.
