MATT BLACK HINGES FOR THE SHOWER SCREEN
We didn't know these bad boys even existed until our fabulous glazier suggested them. It just wouldn't have looked right with silver hinges.
MATT + GLOSSY PINK TILES
We randomly used matt and glossy versions of the pink tiles. It's hard to pick up in the video but in the flesh the variation in finish is lovely. Before you ask, we picked up these tiles from Owen at Amber Kellyville. Jump on their Instagram page here for all the details.
NUDE GROUT
I love nude coloured shoes and Nudie juice, but we're never used nude grout before. We chose the colour nude for the pink tiles and the black penny rounds to make them pop. White grout or even Misty Grey would have been too stark.
TILE INSERT WASTE
When you're renovating a bathroom, don't forget to tell your tiler to use a tile insert waste. This allows you to use a piece of your floor tile as the floor waste so that it blends into the floor. If you don't ask, you may well arrive home to find your tiler's chosen a $10 stainless steel drain from Bunnings #notideal. In the River Shack it was crucial to maintain the black penny round aesthetic across the floor so a tile insert was the only option.
SOAP ON A ROPE
Did you spot the gorgeous soap on a rope? Erin said she's never heard of soap on a rope ;-) We got this gorgeous black one from The Beach People.
GOLD TOILET FLUSH
I never thought I'd love a toilet flush as much as I do this gold one from Caroma. The dual flush plate looks amazing against the black penny round tiles and it brings a bit of bling to the bathroom.
