This little ugly duckling of a house needed quite a bit of help in the roof department! The original tiles left a lot to be desired but we didn’t have the budget to splash the cash on a whole new roof. We wanted the extension to complement rather than contrast the original roof, so needed to find the perfect crown to sit atop this little black beauty.

Monier’s Horizon concrete tiles were such a great choice because they not only look amazing, they’re really hard-wearing and practical too. Concrete tiles are made from sand and cement so they’re cheaper than terracotta and the most durable option on the market. We like to think of them as the veritable chameleons of the roof tile world because they can be created to resemble so many other styles and materials.

And get this, concrete tiles strengthen with age and can last up 50 years. Believe me, not many things get better with age with a renovation! That’s why we’re singing Horizon’s praises from the rooftops.
