And just like that we are already three weeks into Three Birds TV... 😱
Episode three is here guys and it's all about my home office and terrace, all within our parents world. If you are like me and don't want to be working from a dark, small "office" at home, and you want a bright and beautiful space that leaves you feeling inspired and full of energy then I have a good feeling you're going to love this week's reveal.
We're kicking episode two off with a bang tonight revealing my ultimate parents retreat.
I'll show you how I did it by converting what used to be our family living space - the kitchen, living and dining into our very own "parents world" #heaven. The old layout didn't suit our lifestyle... it was upside down and didn't connect well with the rest of our home.
Read MoreI think I've already told you that my forever home has been in the works for years... long before Three Birds was born. And like most people, I engaged an architect early on to draw up some plans.
But after Three Birds began and we'd renovated a few houses, my eyes were opened up to new design ideas and I felt like I knew exactly what our dream home needed to be... so I picked up a pencil and started to draw it.
Read MoreOver the next 8 weeks we'll share the full reno journey, launching a new episode every Monday night at 8pm. This first episode introduces the project and then every ep following will showcase a space in the house from start to finish! Yep that's right, there will be room reveals in every episode #yay #inspoeveryep.
Read MoreEvery reno we do is challenging but nothing has ever tested us more than this latest reno. It's bigger, bolder and brighter (if that's even possible;-)... and this time... it's personal - we're renovating my family home to turn it into my Forever Home #notsellingthisone
Read MoreThere are two types of people in this world – those who drink coffee and those who don’t; those who have kids and those who don’t; those who love cats and those who don’t; those who think Ryan Gosling is perfection and... well there’s no alternative view on that one. And finally there are those who have a pool and those who don’t. I’d never had a pool... until about 12 months ago that is.
Read MoreRunning a business from home is hard - especially when you have to hide behind a couch to escape the kids and find some clear head space for work. So the time has come to spread our wings and create a Three Birds HQ.
Read MoreNO really, this year has flown by and if you're just like us you've probably been too busy to realise that Christmas is in 2 weeks, YESSSS 2 weeks! And if you're anything like Bonnie or Lana, you have not yet bought one single present (P.S - Erin's already finished!).
Read MoreThey say time flies when you're having fun and that's certainly been our experience with this little fibro transformation. It took us 8 weeks (our longest reno ever!) but it was worth it! Even though we'd done four houses before this beauty we still tried lots of new things. Here are some of the "firsts" for us with this house.
Read MoreStyling your home can be an overwhelming job and knowing where to start is often the hardest part. Even if you have great style, the idea of decking out a whole house is a daunting one! Lucky we have Bon, our resident style queen, to help make our homes hot-to-trot. Keep on scrolling if you want to find out how Bon pulled together our bedroom looks at House 5.
Read MoreI have a question for you …… do blinds and window coverings excite you? Have you ever seen a blind and gone “WOW – that’s friggin’ amazing!”? No? Well that was us 6 months ago.
Bon, myself and Erin shared the view that window coverings were pretty boring stuff and aside from white shutters, there was basically “nothing to see here”. Well how wrong were we!?
Read MoreStyling can be a daunting task, even for those of us who have a natural eye for it, like Bonnie... and styling lounge rooms can be one of the more difficult spaces to do well - there are just so many questions to answer:
Read MoreWOW what a day! Bon, Erin and myself are still floating down off cloud nine after getting the opportunity to share our house with everyone who attended our Exclusive Open Home today. It was very special for us, thanks to every one of our loyal supporters that attended and everyone that supported us from afar, your support of us as renovators, business women, busy mums and best friends seriously makes us beyond grateful.
Read MoreHave I told you that we’re using more colour than ever in this house!? I think they must have changed the coffee granules at The Tuckshop cos Bonnie has gone a bit colour crazy. Don’t worry, we’re not talking bright fuschia or chartreuse, you’ll see Bon’s choices are still very liveable and will work beautifully with our predominantly white walls #snowdrop.
Read MoreTICK TOCK TICK TOCK …… with only 2 WEEKS TO GO it’s hard to imagine how we’ll get this house finished on time!?
I decided to ring Erin and check how things were going...
Read MoreAnd within the blink of an eye, we are already past the half-way mark for House 5 #thehillsarealivewithrenofive.
So for those of you that blinked, here’s what you missed.
The House as it was – original fibro cottage in Baulkham Hills.
Read MoreHave I ever told you how Bonnie and Erin holiday together and never invite me? They even have the audacity to talk about it right in front of me and then look dumb-founded when I say, “you know I’m sitting right here? I can hear you”.
If it’s not Byron Bay they’re off to, they’re convoying up the freeway to Bon’s beach house at Pearl Beach.
I have never been invited to the beach house – in fact I eventually had to invite myself up there. But just as we were reversing out of our drive to head up to Pearl, car packed to the hilt, she calls with some lame excuse – something about her waters breaking and going into labour. I mean really!? The nerve of that girl.
Read MoreCan you believe we are in the FINAL WEEK of this reno!? I can’t. In fact if you asked me if it were possible, I’d say “no way, Rosé”. But Erin assures me we are on track to finish by Friday. So with the pressure on I was quite reluctant to take a day out to write this blog (yes it takes me that long). Surely this is how the Masterchef contestants feel when there’s 3 mins left on the clock, they’ve just burnt their sauce (and fingers) and suddenly Matt Preston appears for a quick interview. Argh!! So forgive me this week, there are more pictures than words and let’s all cross our fingers that we don’t end up with burnt ones on Friday.
